When Zero learned to read he got really happy. I think that everyone who learns something new gets exited and happy, at least I do. When they digging all day the skinn on their palms gets harder and thats the same for me, when i go to the gym and lift weights the skin on my palms get harder.

Instead of going to jail the kids went to Camp Green Lake and dug holes. Sometimes in Sweden when people don’t go to jail they can do community work. It means that they work free for the government instead of getting locked up. Things the people can do when they serve community work can be for example clean the streets from garbage or help old people with things they can’t do. They do it for a few months depending on how violent the crime was.

Mr.sir always eats flower seeds, and that reminds me of me and my friends. On the summer we always share a big bag of flower seed. We buy them everyday, it’s kinda like an addiction, you can’t stop eating them.

Stanley is a big guy who comes from a poor family. Even tho his family is poor he is big because he eats a lot, he didn’t left anything behind on his plate in Camp Green Lake. He didn’t had any friends before but he is making friends now in Camp Green Lake. He loves his family very much and he don’t want his parent to be worried thats why he lied in the letter he wrote.

Stanley is a nice person that never did something wrong, he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. He didn’t steal the shoes but he took them anyway and thats why he was sent to the camp. He took them so he could give them to his father and thats a nice thing.

At the camp everyone wears working clothes instead of their on clothes. And they all gets their own nickname. Stanley’s nickname is caveman.

I think Stanley is afraid of X-Ray because he just gives the things he finds to X-Ray without arguing. If he wasn’t afraid he would have told him to find his own things and now asking for other peoples.

Stanley returns to digging as usual and finds a tiny gold tube with a heart engraved on it. Inside the heart it says ’’KB’’. He had told X-Ray that he would give him anything he found so X-Ray could get the day of. He gives the gold tube to X-Ray and told him to give it to the Warden tomorrow. The next morning X-Ray gave the gold tube to the Warden and he got the day of.

Zero told Stanley that he can’t read and ask Stanley if he can teach him, Stanley said that he can’t teach him to read. Later that day Magnet stole Mr.Sir’s bag of flower seeds. When they gave the bag to Stanley all the seeds drop onto Stanley’s hole. When Mr.Sir returned he catches Stanley Mr.Sir asked Stanley who stole the bag and he took the blame. Mr.Sir took Stanley to see the Warden and told her Stanley says he stole the bag but he doesn’t think it was Stanley, that he covered for X-Ray or someone. The Warden asked Stanley to hand her a makeup case with nail polish. She said that she made her own nail polish and that she used rattle snake venom in it. And that it was harmless when dry but toxic when wet. The Warden paints her nails and slaps Mr.Sir in the face and he screamed in pain. When Stanley got back to his hole Zero already finished it. Then he made a deal with Zero that if he dug in Stanley’s hole one hour everyday he would teach Zero to read.
